Privacy Policy for Perch – Notch Shelf

Thank you for using Perch – Notch Shelf (“the App”). This Privacy Policy explains how your data is handled when you use the App on your Mac.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
Perch does not collect, store, or share any personal data. The app operates entirely on-device and does not transmit any data to external servers.
We do not:
• Collect personally identifiable information (PII)
• Track user behavior
• Use analytics for marketing or advertising
• Share any diagnostics or usage data with third parties
• Display or serve ads from third parties
2. Permissions and Local Access
To provide its core functionality, Perch may request access to the following:
• Camera
Used to allow users to take photos or videos from the Home tab. The camera is only activated upon user request. No footage is recorded, stored, or shared.
• Calendars
Used to display upcoming calendar events within the Home tab. Events are accessed locally and are never transmitted or stored.
• Files and Folders
The File Tray feature allows users to drag and drop files into the shelf. File access is limited to items the user manually selects. No file content is accessed or sent elsewhere.
• Location
Used to provide local weather information and forecasts. Location data is only used to retrieve relevant weather data from Apple weather services and is not stored, tracked, or shared. Users can disable location access at any time through their device settings.
3. Third-Party Services
Perch uses third-party services strictly for diagnostics and stability purposes:
• Firebase Analytics
Used to understand app performance and usage trends (e.g., which features are used most). This data is aggregated, not linked to your identity, and used only to improve the app. No personally identifiable information (PII) is collected or stored.
• Firebase Crashlytics
Used to detect and diagnose crashes and errors. Crash reports help us improve stability and performance. These reports do not contain personally identifiable information and are not used for tracking.
We do not use these tools for marketing, profiling, or advertising purposes. Data collected is not shared with third parties and is handled in compliance with Google’s privacy and data security practices.

4. Data Retention
Since we do not collect or store any data, there is no data retained by the app.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do, we will post the revised version with an updated effective date.
